Bring: oil, gel or cream; floor pads, pillows, and/or cushions; 2 sheets, face cradle covers, pillow case, water to drink, hand sanitizer or anti-bacterial spray and bolster.

October 7th, 2011- Soft Touch Islands Massage
Presented By: Lolita Knight
Friday 6pm-10pm

Lolita Knight, with over 30 years of a full time massage career, has developed a whole new way of providing deep relaxation massage from experiences with island massage from Fiji and Tonga. Strokes are completed using the hands, finger tips and forearm. As the title suggests, the touch is soft; however, the technique is not a mindless "fluff" massage.

Bring: 2 sheets (one flannel if possible for sound effects to the massage), face cradle cover, bolster or pillow.

4 CE Hours- $80 or $65 If paid before September 14th, 2011

October 8th, 2011- Indian Head Massage
Presented By: Lolita Knight
Saturday 9am- 4 pm

Indian Head Massage is based on an ancient Indian healing system called Ayerveda. This massage technique has been practiced for over a thousand years. The massage is calming, yet revitalizing working on the upper back, neck, shoulder, face, and scalp. Indian Head Massage can help eyestrain, headaches, improve concentration, boost hair health, relieve shoulder tension, increase neck mobility, calm the mind and ease the emotional stress.

Bring: If you bring a tv tray, music stand, or clipboard to hold class handouts, it will make it easier to follow notes. Bring water to drink and light snacks. When receiving the first part of the chair version, a hair clip to tie hair back is beneficial with hair free and loose for the second part.

6 CE hours- $120 or $105 if paid by September 14th, 2011

October 8th, 2011- TNT Massage
Presented By: Lolita Knight
Saturday 4:30pm-6pm

TNT for a Dynamite Massage- Lolita suffered from inflamed wrist tendons for 2 years and once recovered she made sure to develop methods that would save her hands while giving her clients a deep therapeutic session. She tried many different massage tools and though finding many very beneficial, her favorite ones were a turtle tool and the Thumbby. In this short 2 hour class you will gain hand saving strokes for all parts of the body. Learn how 4 turtle legs, head, eyes, shell and edge of shell contour across arms, legs, and along spine to give even and deep pressure. The Thumbby, a firm, yet soft silicon cone shaped tool, can stick on a wall to give yourself a back massage plus your pressure 8 fold when applying pressure to the base of the cone on various tight muscles of your clients. Yes, TNT for Dynooomite Massage.

2 CE Hours- $40 or $30 if paid by September 14th, 2011

October 9th, 2011- Foot Reflexology
Presented By: Lolita Knight

Lolita learned Foot Reflexology with Dr. John Christopher. No fancy/difficult finger technique. Simply apply pressure and grind a tiny circle to clear any blockages of energy to the affected organ or body system. After practicing this for several years, she learned other pressure point/ meridian techniques and dropped doing Foot Reflexology for a few years. Then on one occasion, she was unable to very basic, yet effective method. From that day forward she has mainly used Foot Reflexology for pressure point therapy as fewer points are required for stimulation and results are often quite dramatic.

No pregnant students will be allowed to receive a Foot Reflexology session, but can still learn and practice giving. This is not an introduction, you will learn how to give a full foot reflexology treatment and be able to help your clients after attending this class with subsequent practice.

Bring: Clean feet, no fungal infections allowed (even with socks); Cushion; Antibacterial spray; paper towels and plastic bag for paper towel trash; water for drinking; you may wear socks or have bare feet.

Below is not a schedule yet, but "At a Glance" of possible class offerings" at any venue in the future.

Posterior Fijian Massage - 8 CE Hrs - $160

Students experience the ancient art of Fijian Massage from the Fiji Islands where the village therapist is barefoot and gives a gentle, yet effective deep tissue massage.  Fijian Massage saves the therapist's hand, as hands are never used for support or to move or reposition the client.  Nine different parts of the foot are incorporated to massage the posterior body.  The therapist stands or sits comfortably in a chair and never walks on a client's back.  Clients remain clothed for this technique.

Anterior & Sidelying Fijian Massage  - 8 CE Hrs - $160

Refer to the Posterior Fijian Massage course, which is a prerequisite to taking the Anterior course.  Nine different parts of the foot are incorporated to massage the abdomen, upper chest, quadriceps, front of legs, arms, hands, shoulders and back from a side lying position.  Therapist mainly sits comfortably in a chair while giving this deeper therapeutic massage, although some standing is allowed.  Clients remain clothed for this technique.

Fijian Fusion Massage - 8 CE Hrs - $160

Lolita Knight and certified instructor Christyn Rittenhouse combined energies to develop advanced Knight/Rittenhouse Fijian massage strokes over the last 5 years.  This class includes self-care or your feet, stretching and an adaptation of the prone position with oil.  The Posterior OR Anterior Fijian Massage course is a prerequisite. Needed is a transfer bench or chair with a 29-inch width at the stance of the legs of the chair as therapist straddles the client for many of the strokes.

Chinese Facial Massage - 6 CE Hrs - $125 or Advanced 7 CE for $145.

Students learn a 5-step treatment involving 25 pressure points as taught to Lolita by Chinese Doctor Lily Fu.  The process involves the application of two natural products (honey and macadamia nut oil) to help remove tension, reduce facial lines, tone, uplift and enhance appearance.  Facial massage can benefit facial tics, Bells Palsy, eye droop, sinus problems and scars.  Rejuvenation strokes are included as well as external TMJ techniques.

Indian Head Massage - 4 CE Hrs - $95, 8 CE Hrs $155

While the title indicates only the head being massaged, this technique focuses on the parts of the body most prone to tension and stress, including the scalp, face, neck, upper arms, shoulders and upper back areas.  The client is seated in a chair, fully clothed.  Ayurvedic oil (which Lolita provides) is massaged into the scalp or, if preferred, all strokes can be completed on dry scalp.  Students learn and experience modern Indian Head massage which combines shiroabdyanga (the original family head massage), champi (more commonly found in barber shops in India) and Japanese shiatsu points.  Due to many massage therapists requesting adaptations for the table an 8-hour Indian Head technique that includes techniques for the table is also available.

Lolita Knight has 35 years massage experience, is the founder of the Fijian Massage gained while staying in Fiji and is NCBTMB approved since 2001.
